India are set to play four Test matches against Australia in what promises to be a blockbuster series between two of the most powerful cricketing nations in the world.
Australia and India have been playing Test cricket against each other since 1947 and they renew their rivalry in Adelaide on Thursday.
Some of the most competitive clashes have come since they began contesting the Border-Gavaskar Trophy – named after the first two batsmen to pass 10,000 runs – in the 1996-’97 season.

Sachin Tendulkar and spin king Shane Warne had many epic battles.
